Hydration tips for skin when the season is changing:
Do you think that drinking water has no connection with :
Itchy skin?
More noticeable lines & wrinkles?
Dull skin?
Sensitive skin issues ?
Well think again !
All the above concerns are signs of
DEHYDRATED SKIN
Factors that can cause DEHYDRATION:
Environmental factors; pollution, UV rays , extreme temperatures
Emotional factors
Stress or fatigue
Gut health
Poor diet & nutrition
Lifestyle factors
Tobacco, alcohol , caffeine
Hydration top tips :
•After cleansing twice a day , apply a hydrating product to boost hydration & reduce feelings of tightness
• protect yourself when exposed to cold weather & UV rays with a hydrating broad spectrum SPF
• our bodies are made up of 70% water & our brains 85% water so aim to drink at least 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day
• some of this fluid intake can come from fruit & veg which will greatly contribute to our overall fluid intake as well as provide us with nutritional “skin food”
Treatments to help hydrate the skin:
Chemical peels using Lactic acid: this is a water loving ingredient meaning that it draws water from the lower layers of our skin cells and brings it up to the upper layers causing the skin to look plump, firm and dewy. Instant hydration for dehydrated skin.
An extremely popular facial in my Addlestone clinic all year round.
